Lifeline is a Federal Benefit that makes monthly Telephone and Internet service more affordable for eligible households. Customers can save $9.25 per month on Telephone or Internet service.
Lifeline discount can be applied to only one option, phone or internet. The option to apply the discount to a service bundle that contains home phone and internet is also available with PAC.
Your household may receive Lifeline on one home telephone service, one internet service or one wireless service. Your household may not receive the Lifeline benefit from more than one provider.
You must participate in at least one of the following programs to be eligible for a Lifeline Program discount:
To apply for Lifeline, call 912-653-4389 or visit our office at 185 E Bacon St in Pembroke. You will be asked to provide proof of your eligibility by providing a copy of a document that verifies you participate in any of the programs listed above. You will be asked to recertify eligibility annually.
If you decide to apply your monthly Lifeline discount to either home internet service or a data plan for your cell phone, you must remain with the company that provides your service for at least 12 months. After that, you are free to switch to a different company. If you move to a different state or to an area where your company does not offer service, let your company know. They will guide you through the process of changing companies.
If you sign up for new home or cell phone service, you need to stay with your company for at least 2 months. If you choose to apply your discount to a bundle, ask the company which change policy applies.
Being a Lifeline customer does not protect you from being disconnected if you fail to pay your bill.
